We’re Right, They’re Wrong… PERIOD!

In Conservatism by Staff Writer0 Comments

When some arrogant progressive like Bob Beckel says something asinine like “Explain to me why the republicans are sticking up for millionaires?” WHY, WHY, WHY doesn’t someone, anyone, have balls enough to say; “BECAUSE WE DON’T PUNISH SUCCESS, F’TARD!”  Instead, they usually say something equally ignorant and whiny like “Oh Bob, We don’t!” Or they start babbling off some ridiculous string of complicated statistics.  This isn’t rocket science, people.  We’re right, they’re wrong… PERIOD.

We believe in freedom and personal achievement; they want choice limited to what is fair so nobody is allowed to fail and learn from their mistakes.  We promote personal initiative; they get a bully mob to try and force slackers to the top.  We live by the sovereignty of the states governed by The Constitution, they want to do away with that and be governed by a foreign global power.  We have stuck by our principles. We haven’t changed since the day the Declaration of Independence was signed.  We are REPUBLICans, for the Republic; where the individual’s rights are protected from the whims of the mob.  They are for democracy, obsessed with the majority rule, where the whims of the bully mob trample the rights of the individual.

The Perfect Pistol

In Handguns by Staff Writer0 Comments

What makes one pistol better than another?  Is there a formula that could be given to a new gun owner to make sure that the perfect pistol is purchased?  Maybe a checklist to send in with someone looking to purchase their very first pistol, to make sure that they select the right one?  If there were to be a checklist created, who would create it?  The creation of that list would most certainly be an issue of high contention.

There are as many preferred pistols as there are people carrying them.  Some people have a favorite pistol based primarily on manufacturer.  A good example of that would be the “Glock Guys”.  They love them a Glock, and when asked by a new or potential gun owner what they would recommend first next and last a Glock.  I encountered several “Glock Guys” when I was looking for my first pistol.  I went to a well recommended gun store that had a very impressive rental wall and a reasonable fee for trying out several pistols.  I wasn’t sure what caliber pistol I wanted, so I asked the guy manning the rental wall to give me a variety of guns in a variety of calibers.  The only 2 of the 10 guns I shot that were not Glocks were the Sig Sauer and Kahr that I had asked for specifically.  Your “Glock Guy” would make his number one item on the checklist “Is the pistol a Glock? Yes: buy it. No: don’t buy it”

Comments on Open Carry

In Handguns by Staff Writer0 Comments

Regardless of how you feel about openly carrying a pistol, there are a few things anyone who regularly open carries can tell you: firstly that most people are too wrapped up in their own lives to notice that you have a gun.  Secondly, if someone does notice they are probably just going to give you a brief “look-of-panic” and then hurry away.  Thirdly, when someone says something to you it can be put into two categories, the intelligent and the ignorant.  What follows is a list of some of these comments, from both categories, as given to me from our followers on Facebook.

The Ignorant:

Whenever I OC here in Georgia, my most common question is ‘Why do you ‘need’ a gun?’ as to which I reply ‘ I also have a fire extinguisher’.  Robby WhiteDynamite Clark

Is that a real gun and are you a real cowboy? (OC a Vaquero)  Michael Murray

While carrying a Glock in a tactical quickdraw holster a women tells me “nice six shooter.” WTF? Guess we are back in the Wild West.  Robbie Breaux

Most of the time I get mistaken for a police officer. Had a guy approach me in a store to ask about paying a traffic ticket.  Neal Allen

“Can I touch it?” Thomas Pedrosa

My favorite was when I was getting ready to start working for a trucking company. I explained to the person that I was licensed to carry a gun and I wanted to know what their policies were. She told me she didn’t know how it could possibly even be legal for someone to be licensed to carry. Bryan Sykes

Gun! Gun! He’s got a GUN!!! Dru Richards

Had an older woman lean over to her elderly husband and say “i think that man over there is a cop”. Kasey Kb Burgess

Is it loaded always gets me laughing. Chuck Parham

I once had a kid ask me if a 380mm was good for self defense …I said sure, if you wanted to clear the entire side of a mountain! Jordan Ross

I was sittin in a place eating one night, and I had my .45 on my hip, and the couple behind me told the waitress,’I don’t feel comfortable with that guy with a gun on his hip’ then had the nerve to ask me if I knew how to use it, and if I had a permit for it. I’m like I spent time in, I know proper gun control, and yes I do, I work with rookie police officers at the training range. That shut her up. Matt Sutherland

I was in Walmart and waved at a little girl… when I turned away to go down the next aisle she said to her mom “Mommy, why does that lady have a gun?” the next thing I heard was a panicked mom voice say “What?!?” since I wasn’t directly spoken to I didn’t go back, and I didn’t run in to them again during that shopping trip. Lena Lawe

I carry a 38 OC and a 9mm CC. Was stopped only once in the Bangor Mall by a Security Officer who informed me that it was Illegal to Discharge my Weapons within the Bangor City Limits. He then asked since I was wearing my Retired Army Baseball Cap if I ever killed anyone and if I suffered from PTS. I asked him how many times he failed the test to become a real Cop before he settled for a Mall Security Job ? He walked away without answering. Albert Boyd Cruce Knapper

I can remember stopping for lunch one day as I overheard the people behind me ask I wounded if that gun is loaded. I turned around & informed them it wouldn’t do me any good if it was unloaded. Rodney Hopkins

I usually carry concealed, but when I DO carry open, the one comment that I get that just irritates the heck out of me is, “What are you afraid of?”. My response, “Nothing, obviously”. Kmt Reeves

My grandma asked me just a few days ago “Do you have a permit to carry that thing?” Brandon Richmond

The Intelligent:

Sitting at a restaurant one night and my waitress saw my gun she asked if it was loaded so I said yes. When she asked why I just asked if the fire extinguisher was loaded…. She smiled and walked away. Later she thanked me for carrying and discounted my meal.  Josh Sloyer

“Thank you, I feel a lot safer standing by you” we are not alone!!! Mack Lounsbury

In the last year….honestly…..what I have heard MOST is: “Hey, thanks for that!” I “OC” mostly (85% or so), and exclusively in and around my “small-local business” J Matty Matuszewski

I’ve only open carried a few times and like u said in one of your posts a few months ago people don’t even notice. The only comments that I got was from people I know telling me good job. And one restaurant I go to all the time and got to know the owner he gave me a discount because I was carrying in the open. Mike Mendez

Annie Get Your Gun

In Articles by Staff Writer0 Comments

It was a beautiful fall day, my three year old son and I had a blast playing at the park enjoying the much anticipated temperature change and crisp air. We finished at the park and I needed to make a “quick trip” to Wal Mart to grab a few things. Thirty minutes later I’m perusing the craft section for something fun to do together. We’re laughing and playing genuinely enjoying our one on one time oblivious to the world around us. Out of the corner of my eye I see a man in jeans and a thick black winter jacket walk past the isle. Instinctively I look his direction and make glancing eye contact then look back at the crafts. I can still see him out of the corner of my eye, when he stops dead in his tracks, backs up and comes down my isle. Quickly, he squats down and pulls something out from under his jacket. I can’t see what it is, but his hands appear to be making a familiar movement.

Texas Firearms Training Facility Challenges Gun Control Advocates to Face a “Bad Guy”

In Press Releases by Staff Writer0 Comments

Cold Dead Hands is proud to announce the Patriot Protection Gun Control Challenge. The significance of this date is intriguing, not only is it the 223 anniversary of the Bill of Rights which includes the 2nd Amendment, but .223 is also the caliber of the AR-15 which many gun control advocates call an “assault weapon” and would like to see banned.

Patriot Protection Plano, TX.

Press Release: Plano, Texas 12/15/14

Patriot Protection in Plano Texas has issued a challenge for all gun control advocates to come to their range and actually face a “bad guy.” You often hear gun control advocates say “I don’t believe people should to be able to own guns” or “there is no reason someone needs to have a ______ type of firearm.” However, many, if not most, of these “advocates” have no practical experience with firearms or with situations where they might need a firearm.

“We want all of these people who are speaking without knowledge to come get some!” – Tim Dodd, Owner.

Omnibust!

In Politics by Staff Writer0 Comments

If you thought Boehner was going to swoop in like a superhero and save Centropolis from the evil progressives just because he has an R on his red jammies, you should be aware that more Democrats opposed this bill than Republicans. True, some of them wanted to spend more. But I’ve said it before and no one listens. The same group of elites providing these progressives with an unlimited charge card mark their bill paid in full whether they wear red jammies or blue jammies.
