Texas Two-Step Politics: Distract and Pacify

Open/Conceal

I’m going to let you in on the dirty little secret of politics today. YOU don’t matter, unless you make yourself heard. One of the biggest drawbacks of a representative democracy such as the Constitutional Republic we have in America, is complacency. Complacency breeds apathy and apathy breeds tyranny. There is a battle for freedom going on in Texas right as we speak, yet most people are either clueless or see nothing but the most extreme fringes. The complacency and apathy of the general population could very well extend their servitude in a militarized police state for many, many years to come. What? Let me say this right up front, I am NOT a “Conspiracy Theorist” by any stretch. That being said, the last week has got me wondering. If you follow our articles then you know that last week we broke a story regarding Everytown. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 news breaks nationally of Everytown’s “correction” to their online firearms investigation in Vermont along with the threatened lawsuit. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 Crossfire Arms issues press release announcing plans to move forward with lawsuit and naming me as the person who broke the story. Myself, BearingArms.com and The Blaze all contributed to the story that forced the correction. Then strange things began to happen.

Today is the 2nd day of the 2nd month and the 2nd anniversary of a nation deprived of a hero with so much more left to give. It is fitting that the movie American Sniper is dominating the box office. It is equally fitting that the newly elected Texas governor Greg Abbott has declared today Chris Kyle Day. This time last year I reflected on that fateful day, as I was just a few miles away from Chris Kyle at another gun range taking a defensive handgun class that day. I remember well the highs and lows of that day. Having had a phenomenal day at the range training with 21st Century Gunfighter and the sucker punch I got when I turned on the car radio on my way home.
